Built in the late 1800s, Trinity Anglican Church is one of only three buildings in Atlantic Canada designed in the distinctive Gothic Revival style of architect Stephen Earle, which is an architectural legacy recognized at the national and provincial levels. It was constructed by skilled shipwrights in Digby, the scallop‑fishing capital of the world, and embodies the craftsmanship and ingenuity that shaped the town’s maritime economy. Many local families trace their ancestry to the builders of the church—Loyalists, United Empire Loyalists, and early settlers who established the foundations of the community that thrives today. An active church and gathering place, Trinity remains vital to community life and is a venue essential for worship, celebrations, concerts, and civic events.
