Step into New Brunswick’s military past at the 8th Hussars Military Museum, located in the beautifully restored historic Intercolonial Railway Station in Sussex. This Victorian-era building is more than just a museum—it is part of the Regiment’s story. Beginning in the late nineteenth century, countless Hussars passed through this station on their way to train at Camp Sussex and later serve in the South African War, the First and Second World Wars, peacekeeping missions, and Afghanistan.

Visitors can explore a remarkable collection of artifacts that reflect the history and traditions of the Regiment, including original uniforms dating back to 1881, Routine Orders from 1893, historic flags, military memorabilia, and personal items donated by past and present members. The museum also houses the original accoutrements of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment.

Whether you are interested in military history, local heritage, or the stories of those who served, the 8th Hussars Military Museum offers a fascinating look into one of Canada’s oldest cavalry regiments.
