Discover the rich and unique history of Charlotte County at the Charlotte County Museum in Milltown, New Brunswick. Since 1961, the museum has been dedicated to preserving artifacts, presenting exhibitions, and offering educational programs and tours that bring the region’s past to life.

The museum’s collections and exhibits provide visitors with a glimpse into everyday life in Charlotte County from the late eighteenth century onward. Learn about the early settlers who shaped the region, including Loyalists, Scots, and Irish immigrants, and explore the strong historical connections between Charlotte County and the American Northeast.

Visitors can browse a variety of artifacts and displays that highlight the people, industries, and communities that have contributed to the county’s development over the centuries. New for 2026, the museum features an updated Ganong Room, celebrating the legacy of one of New Brunswick’s most well-known business families, as well as a new Charlotte County Sports Corner, showcasing local athletic achievements and community sports history.

As roof restoration work is currently underway, the museum is open by appointment only for the 2026 season. Staff are pleased to welcome visitors and share the fascinating stories that make Charlotte County an important part of New Brunswick’s heritage.
