The Memramcook Historical Society was created on January 27, 1977 under the name of La Société historique de la Vallée de Memramcook. Founded with the objective of safeguarding the Monument-Lefebvre , the Society’s role is to promote the rich heritage of Memramcook – known as the “Cradle of Acadie” – and to assist in its development.
The Society manages a museum, organizes public activities, publishes historical books, and also maintains a documentation and archival center about the history of the region.
The Society invites you to visit this beautiful region, so rich in Acadian history. Get to know our heritage through our eco-museum, photo displays, and other seasonal exhibitions relating to the daily life of the Acadians in Memramcook.
