I love my local history in Nova Scotia because it connects me deeply to the land, people, and stories that shaped our province. From the Mi’kmaq Nation’s ancient traditions to the legacy of Acadians, African Nova Scotians, and Loyalists, each chapter is rich and meaningful. Historic towns like Lunenburg and Annapolis Royal, and iconic events like the Halifax Explosion, reflect resilience and cultural diversity. Local museums, heritage sites, and oral histories bring the past to life. Nova Scotia’s history fosters a sense of pride, identity, and belonging, making me appreciate where I come from and how our past influences today.
