The Cedar Lighthouse was built in 1904, located along the Saint John River.
Bayswater Lighthouse
Bayswater, New Brunswick
The Bayswater Lighthouse is located in Bayswater, NB, and it is located near the channel of Milkish Creek. It is one of 21 operating lighthouses that guided the St. John River system. It outlooks Sea Dog Cove and it provided guidance to the ferry that traveled between Bayswater and Milledgeville, up to the 1950’s.
It has the typical “pepper pot” design and a coved cornice tower. It was painted in red and white which were the colours of the Canadian Coast Guard. Thanks to its utilitarian design, it was cheap to build and easy to maintain for the local lightkeeper.
